OneCare Your subscription will renew in 15 days RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a retail canadian version of onecare running on my vista pc.  I noticed today that it says  Your subsciption will renew in 15 days.
I've been reading the forums and learned that I am supposed to get a letter to activate another 6mos free?.
Is this true also for my version? I have not received a letter.
If I go to billing it shows:

    Renewal scheduled for:
    renew this service

Not sure what happens now or why I wasn't informed.
    Thank you for your help

  • I don't know about the e-mail but you should get a free six month extension of your subscription.

  • Go to https://billing.microsoft.com and sign in with your subscription LiveID. Click on the OneCare subscription renew link, if offered, and you will most likely see the message about the extension. Proceed to renew (for free) and ignore the statement upon completion about being charged on the renewal date - they didn't change the boilerplate messaging.

If you are charged for renewal, and I am 99% certain that you won't be, contact support.
