XP - Pure Networks Platform - A Message from Perth, Australia RRS feed

  • Question

  • In services on my XP PC, I have enabled "pure networks platform" - is this an essential service to have running to enable the Mesh to work, or can I disable it ?

  • Seems like Perth is becoming quite popular...

The service that you describe is not affiliated with Live Mesh, or in fact with Microsoft. It's part of the "Pure Networks" suite which is now part of Cisco. Depending on your network setup (I assume that this is either a small business or software that came with your router) you will most likely require it for internet access, which would mean you would need it for Live Mesh.

Short Answer: Trying it will probably not harm anything, but then again, leaving it running if it came with your network may be recommended.
