I don't understand what this validation program is. I've never seen it before. But all of a sudden my computer began freezing up, turning off, and telling me it can't display colors. I purchased my laptop from Best Buy less than a year ago and it came with the version of Vista I'm running right now. What in the world is going on? Here's what the program said:

Your Diagnostic Report tell me that your Vista's Software Licensing Service has stopped. Vista uses this service to check itself and confirm it is Genuine. When the servise is stopped, Vista is unable to confirm it's own Genuine status and assumes something (or someone) has tampered the Software Licensing Service and flages itself as Non-Genuine. But the fact that the Software Licensing Service has stopped would not be causing the freezing up, turning off, and telling you it can't display colors. It sounds to me like the Software Licensing Service stopping is just one of many symptoms that your Vista is experiencing a bigger issue.
My suggestion would be to either contact the warranty support provider for your computer (usually the maker of the computer. in your case, HP) or go to http://support.microsoft.com for further Vista support options.
Sorry I couldn't be more help,
Darin Smith
