Mac Word Version X Office:Mac 2011 Word Documents Compatibilty RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know I'm not at the right place to ask this question so please tell me where to go!  This 71 yr old lady is lost. I'm a basic but loyal Mac Word user.  I just got a new computer and successfully moved my old Word documents (Version X) to my new Mac. Lion 10.7.  I bought Mac:Office 2011.  My old Word documents open in a compatibility format. Some have boxes around the text.  I HAVE to be able to share them with Windows Word users.  Somehow, can't repeat, I shared one as a draft and a Windows person says it was all "code".  If I save them as .docx will that work?  When I saved one as a .docx it looked fine with one minor (bold) format change.  When I tried another it had a box around the text.  Both of these "old" documents had no tables or pictures or whatever.  Will I have to resave each document I hae??
