MSIE newer than 11? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

My WHS2011 is both a home server and and a PC (it's fine for me, a very experienced developer) and I used to browse in Chrome.

However, sometimes I need to launch IE to test some software/site.

Is there a way to update IE to newer versions? More and more sites complain on 11 as an outdated crap ;-)

    Thanks!

  • hi,
As you know, Windows Home Server 2011 mainstream support ended in the second quarter of 2016.

    you can refer this document:
    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/sbs/2017/07/03/windows-home-server-2011-end-of-mainstream-support/
And IE11 is the highest version in Internet explorer.so there no way to update ie to newer version on
    Windows Home Server 2011.
you can use chrome or other third party
browser for your testing  or use Microsoft edge on window 10 for your testing.

  • Is there any progress on your question?

  • Somewhat late reply, but may be of use to others - I can confirm that Chromium Edge x64 installs and works perfectly on WHS 2011. IE11 remains, so can still use if required.
