Wanting o urn Dell 4550 into WHS but cant run the ISO file RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am hoping someone can lead me in the right direction trying to install the trial WHS on my Dell 4550. It currently is running WXP home edition but I would like to use it as a server.  I downloaded the file and saved to my desktop then burned it to a dvd using both my HP laptop and burner then again with a Sony VRD-VC20 external burner.  I get the image on the disk but i cannot open it or boot from it because it cannot open the ISO file.  I did some research and found sites offereng software to help with this but for a price.  What am I doing wronge, please help.

  • I know there are many programs to burn ISOs. My favorite is ImgBurn, it's free and it works

  • Windows 7 will burn that for you, no problem.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • I use imageburn as well but also ISO Recorder a simple burn program that runs as a context menu. Right click on the iso, select iso recorder and follow the screens.
