Which SyncToy version and which file to download? RRS feed

    Although v2.1 has been out for some time, I still see many references to v2.0.  Are there any downsides to using v2.1?

    The Microsoft download sites for v2.1 list either 5 or 2 possible download files and say "Download the files most appropriate for you".  With no guidance at all, how am I supposed to know which file is the most appropriate?  Why can't further expalantions be included?

    Hi,

    The microsoft download site(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=c26efa36-98e0-4ee9-a7c5-98d0592d8c52) for Sync toy 2.1 has two files for downloading.

     

    Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of SyncToy2.1 are available as a single self-extracting archive executable which runs all of the required setup components when launched. The 64-bit version is targeted to 64-bit versions of Windows, e.g. Windows XP x64 Edition, Windows Vista 64-bit editions and Windows 7 x64 Edition.  The 32-bit version may be installed and run on a 64-bit version of Windows as well.

     

    Which operation system are you using.

    Ramesv, Your answer doesn't contain any information at all that will help someone decide which file to download on the 2.1 download site. None of the nomenclature in your posts is on the download site.
