Can I use Sync Framework for MySQL? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, is possible to use Microsoft Sync Framework for synchronization MySQL databases? I need synchronize two databases with 3 tables.

    I try it, but I have a problem with SqlSyncAdapterBuilder, because do not support MySqlConnection, but only SqlConnection (MS SQL Server). Is some manual or web site, where I can read about it?

    Thanks.

  • you'll have to write a custom provider for MySQL.

    you may want check out the Oracle sample sync provider to get an idea how to go about it :http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/sync/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=3761

  • Yes, but I have not experience with .NET and Sync framework and from this link I don't understand how to write custom provider. Can you write me some source code, how to do synchronization between two MySQL databases, please?

    I tried easy example from this page , but I have not idea how to rewrite for MySQL databases.  As DbServerSyncProvider I write this, but I don't know how to rewrite others. Thanks.

    DbServerSyncProvider serverSyncProvider = new DbServerSyncProvider();
    agent.RemoteProvider = serverSyncProvider;
    MySqlConnection conn = new MySqlConnection(string_pripojeni_lokalniho_serveru);
    conn.Open();
    serverSyncProvider.Connection = conn;
