50xxx Courses and MCT competencies RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

As far as i can see MCT Program Competencies document does not contain any courses from ranges 50xxx, 60xxx etc.

Is any restrictions for MCTs to teach courses from this range?

  • Hi,

Yes there is. MCT's are only allowed to teach what they are certified in. So if they do not hold any certs in the 50XXX or 60XXX range they are not allowed to teach those courses. At least not under there MCT credential. Of course you can teach the course but then you would have an issue with other specifications from the program. In short, No!

  • Look at the course description page, and note that 50526 says "Technology: Windows 7" and 50255C says "Technology: Windows Server 2008". So you should be fine teaching them if you hold any certification related to Windows 7 and Windows 2008, respectively.

Note that the 50xxx courses are not explicitly mentioned in the Competencies Matrix. Although you ought to be certified in a related technology, this is not actually enforced.
