Confusion on Synchronization Services?? RRS feed

  • Question

    Hello All,

I have reading about the new and exciting Synchronization services, but i am a little bit confused. It seems that it only supporting SQL CE versions only!! then in different forums i read that support for other different versions like SQL Express would be released with VS 2008, which is out!! So now i would like to know the following:

    1. Does synchronization service support SQL SERVER 2000/2005/Express?

    2. If yes> Where do i get the resources for the same?

    3. If no? By when can we expect the support to be available???

    Hoping for a positive answer!!!

  • The current release of sync services v1.0 support SQLCE on the client database (spoke) synchronizing with SQL 2000/SQL2005 all SKUs on the backend (hub) in a hub spoke fashion.  This has been shipped in VS 2008.  The sync services for ADO.NET v2.0 (now in CTP) in addition to hub-spoke scenario described above can synchronize two or more databases SQL server express databases in a peer to peer (full mesh) collaboration scenario.
