Failed backups RRS feed

  • Hello,

    We have a system that the backup fails.  The failed backup has the following error: The volume is currently missing. {80d197e0-1f05-11dd-981a-806d6172696f}

    We have tried uninstall and reinstalling the WHS connector, but we can not get the backup to work.  We tried going thru the backup configuration wizard and get the following error:

    ---------------------------

    ---------------------------
    This computer is not online or Windows Home Server cannot access the computer's hard drive.  Please make sure the computer is powered on and connected to your home network.
    ---------------------------
    OK  
    ---------------------------

    Please advise on how we can correct thsi problem.

  • Did you clone the drive in that computer?

  • Hi Ken,

    The drive was cloned late last year.  We have had successful backup since the drive was cloned.  It started failing about two weeks ago.  The other systems on the WHS are not having any problems with backups.

  • Try running chkdsk /r on each drive in the client computer.
