Hard drive does not show correct size RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a 1.5 TB drive for storage.  When I look at it in My Computer it shows:

Data (D:) Local Disk, Total size - 54.5 GB, Free Space 971 GB.

    ????  HUH ???

In properties for that drive it shows:

    Used space: '[,+]0*+,].0 bytes 023143936

Free space: 1,043,109,969,920 bytes  971 GB

The little colored wheel shows completely used and lists Capacity as 58,539,315,200 bytes 54.5 GB.\

    What gives ?

First, logging into the server desktop is unsupported.  In any event, that's normal behavior.  It's because of how Drive Extender combines drives and how Vista/7 require the necessary free space before even starting to copy.
