Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) Product Key Blocked

Question
-
Hello,
I recently upgraded one of my machines from Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) to Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit), but now I am receiving a message that my product key is blocked from Microsoft's activation servers. I know it is not a pirated version of Windows because I purchased it through my university, which offers a discount on software to its students. I've used this product key a few times before without any problems; could that be why it's not working now? Here is my diagnostic report:

I just thought I'd update this post. I submitted a support ticket with Microsoft WGA Support, but they told me to call the Microsoft Product Activation Team for assistance in their reply. I would prefer not to call because I am no longer in the U.S. So, I decided to obtain a product key for Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (64-bit) and use it. This worked fine and activated Windows!

Please attempt validation at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate
then post a new MGADiag report.

Thank you, Carey. I have opened a no-charge support incident with Microsoft WGA Support.
Noel, I attempted validation at the URL you provided me with, but all it did was redirect me to here: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/ValidationResult.aspx?displaylang=en&PageName=validate. I've tried this on the both the latest version of Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
Anyway, I ran the MGADiag again afterwards, and here is my new report:

I was hoping that the page would produce a different response - but your machine is not yet out of grace period, so it went for the default 'pass' option :(
From where did you acquire this copy of Windows? It has none of the usual signs of the fake - it's not an MSDMN or Volume Key.
It may simply be complaing about the number of times it's been activated.
Try using Telephone activation, and speak to an operator...
telephone activation (operator calls)
Click on the Start button
in the Search box, type
SLUI 4
and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with youNoel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

you're not alone! I just had the same thing happen last night. Exact same products and I bought the upgrade FROM the Microsoft Store last May. I'll let you know what I found.
I chatted with two different customer service reps who had no idea what I was talking about and gave me the wrong nubmers for tech support. I actually called Tech Support (once I found the right number), they sent me to Customer Service, who said to call the Microsoft Store because my license was showing being refunded. Waited for the store to open (3 hours), called, they said my license was good and active. I explained my product key was being blocked and they asked how I knew. I explained I went through the validation process and I got that message every time (that my key wasn't genuine). They transferred me to the activation department, attempted to fix the issue, and when it failed said they had no idea why my key was blocked. They told me I'd have to talk to the Order desk who could help me with this issue, unfortunately, they are only open Monday-Friday 5am-7pm Pacific time.
So, after 5 customer reps, explaining my problem about 10 times in detail, 2 chat sessions, 4 phone calls with 3 transfers, all I have to show for it is another phone number.
Here it is: 1-800-360-7561 (order desk) supposedly, they should be able to resolve the issue (I'm hoping it's with a replacement product key).

jovemako.
Please start a new thread of your own, with your own MGADiag report.
There are many reasons why a system may show as being non-genuine - and it's rare for two systems to show the exact same results.

I wasn't saying my MGADiag report is the same. I was simply commenting sympathically and letting them know where I had gotten with it so they wouldn't have to go through the same speedbumps I'm hitting with getting it fixed. That's all.Monday, July 23, 2012 2:54 AM

PLease post a report in your own thread, anyhow - it owuld be interesting to see what your problem actually is, and we may be able to solve it here.
