Plugin settings for multi-organization RRS feed

  • Question

  • It used to be that the Callout I had for MS CRM 3.0 had a setting that applies to one organization. Now with multi-organizations that can use one instance of CRM 4.0, does this mean that my Plugin settings would affect all organizations that are deployed with that CRM instance?

    Say, my Plugin has Features A and B. If I turn on Feature A and turn off Feature B, then that means all the organizations can use just Feature A. What if Org X only wants Feature A and Org Y only wants Feature B, is this possible?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Yes you can set that and put the logic to first check organization name and use if

    If(Orgname=='a)

    {

    }

    else

    {

    }

  • Plug-ins are registered separately for each organisation in a CRM deployment. To offer different features in different organisations I'd either:

    1. Build separate plug-in assemblies for each feature set, and deploy the appropriate assembly in each organisation (you can do this as long as you deploy the assembly into the database, rather than on disk)
    2. Use different configuration settings to control the features available. Supply different configuration settings when deploying the plug-in in each organisation.

  • Thanks guys for your replies. However, my situation is different. First, I don't know who will use my Plugins (org names). Second, I don't know the features they want to turn on and off. The settings are set by a UI, by the way. So it's little more complicated.
