Good Morning Algarve,
Thank you for posting in the WGA Forums Algarve. Based on your MGA Diagnostic results you have a geographically blocked PID. A "Geographically blocked PID" is a Volume License Key that is valid, but was licensed solely to a corporation or larger enterprise/business. Blocked VLK's are Product Keys that Microsoft has received consent from the original owner to block usage of. A VL Product Key is non-transferrable to individuals. In order to resolve your non-genuine licensing issue, please visit: www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on "Validate Windows". When validation fails, click on the Get Genuine button which will provide information on how to acquire a WGA Kit.
Also I noticed Microsoft Office Professional was installed using a now blocked volume licensing key (VLK). Please visit http://www.microsoft.com/piracy and file a piracy report.
Thank you,
Stephen

Algarve,
There could be any number of reasons you have been able to validate over the past couple years. Example a product key could have been leaked out from a given company and suddenly they exceeded their licensing seats for the given key they purchased. In turn the company would notify Microsoft and request their product key to be blocked and issue a new key. Let me give another potential example. Customers have taken in their systems for service along with all the software received when purchasing their system. The customer picks up the system and viola’ no problems whatsoever until they need to download an update. Suddenly their system is non-genuine. The customer's computer was not installed with their software but either a blocked Volume Licensing Key (VLK) or a Keygen’d Product Key. Also the software could work for several weeks, months, or even a year or more then suddenly become blocked.
Hopefully this additional information has helped you understand. I would encourage you to please submit a piracy report by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/piracy .
Curious where did you purchase the software from?
Thank you,
Stephen

thank you once again stephen
the software came pre installed with a desktop computer i bought from ebay
unfortunately i unsubscribed from ebay 9 months ago so i am unable to find the seller
not that it would do much good .
i did recieve a disc with the computer but believe it or not i have lost the damned thing ,as i was hoping to send it back and hopefully get a repacement ,as i am in no position to pay out 100 pounds for a new copy ,being a pensioner,i know! i hnow! another sob story, but its true
the point that really upsets me is how microsoft can so arbitreraly invade my privacy by making my monitor go black and telling me i may have a counterfeit copy
iis it really necessary for microsoft to give me a black screen when i switch on ,and removes the photographs of my grandkids that was my background
is it really necessary for microsoft to place a banner on my screen for all and sundry to see (which CANNOT BE REMOVEDtelling me i may be counter feit and making me fell like a thief
why cant they send a email before hand warning you
sorry for the rant stephen but i realy do appreciate your informative comments
thank youThursday, April 23, 2009 9:37 PM -
Hello Algarve,
Have you contacted EBay and/or PayPal regarding this problem? Where PayPal is an EBay company, both websites are separate. Both websites will want to be contacted regarding your transaction to work with you. Where we are not aware of their exact process, we do recommend you looking into PayPal’s Resolution Center if you used PayPal to pay for your transaction. If you still have information on who the seller was that may help to provide them with this information. Also I highly encourage you to file a piracy report as I mentioned earlier.
Sorry to hear what you had to experience. Take care.
Stephen
