How do i change my back up loc. RRS feed

    I have installed a Extl. hard drive and have been able to confg. two out of three of my computers in my one care to use the drive, but my hub pc that i have backed up to cd/dvd before i can not ??

    what do i need to do

  • Open OneCare on the hub and click on Configure backup.

    On the left, you will see:

    Backup plan for all PCs

    Computer 1

    Computer 2

    Computer 3

     

    (the names of computer 1, 2, and 3 will appear)

    The hub should be the first PC listed.

    Click on the "change settings" button in the lower left.

    Click on the Hub PC name.

    Click on the Central backup device (recommended) selection for Where.

    Click Next, and save the settings.

     

    You may first need to uncheck the "turn on backup on this PC" selection, click Next to save the settings and then return to that page to select the Central Backup location for the hub PC.

  • Are you attempting to configure a centralized backup location for all 3 computers and is the external connected to the Hub PC or is it configured as a network Share?

    Hi Steve

     

    Yes i have a centralized back up location and two of my computers back up to it with no problem

    the problem that i have is my hub PC that my external ddrive is hooked has been backed up before all of thst was done and now that i have set up one care and networked them all together the hub pc still wants to back up to my dvd drive and i don't see how to change that
