msnbot scanning daily but not indexing anymore RRS feed

    Hi everyone,

My clients site at http://www.colourspray.com.au was being indexed perfectly, showing up in webmaster tools and in the search index up until an unknown time a few or more months ago, but the msnbot still scans the site daily, google and yahoo still index perfectly, but msn/live doesn't.

In the webmaster tools it shows Last crawled: N/A - Indexed pages: N/A - Domain score: N/A - Blocked: No, and the site-map is entered correctly still.

Any idea on what is going on here?

    Thanks in advance

    Tim.

    Hi Tim,

My bad. Yes, I verified that I did submit with .au. I changed the links above to reflect this.

  • Hi Tim,

I've noticed that our crawler puts significant weight on the home page content. Reviewing this site without images, there is very little content on the home page. I also noticed that although you canonicalized for www, you have not done so for your home page. I can access it both by http://www.colourspray.com.au and http://www.colourspray.com.au/index.html. I've submitted this site using an internal submission tool. It doesn't always work, but it doesn't hurt to try.

  • Thanks for the info Brett...

I have since corrected the canonicalization problem, and in regards to the home page, it is based on the front page of a brochure that the client had produced prior to having the web site built by me, that's what he insisted on using, so the site is stuck with having the content on other pages unfortunately.

I also wanted to double check that you used the http://www.colourspray.com.au AU address, and not the UK address you have in your post when you submitted the site to the internal submission tool.

I will keep an eye on the index to see if the site pops up, how long would it usually take to show up in the index using the internal submission tool?

    Thanks,

    Tim.
