WHS backup service error - cannot clean up backups and it's consuming all of my storage

My backups are not being automatically cleaned up. So, I tried to do it manually. That's when I found that there was an error. I repaired the database which went fine, but then it again gave an error when I tried to clean them up. This has happened several times. I have NO other errors. Everything including the folders and sharing still works great.

The error message is:

Windows Home Server Console cannot execute task

An error in the backup service is preventing the clenaup operation.

I sent a log file to microsoft through the toolkit and the CAB number is 833107742.

If you send a log file you should also submit a bug report on Connect .

Before you do that, though, have you run chkdsk on all the drives in your server ? If not, please do so,then do another repair and cleanup.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

Users here don't deal with logs and CAB numbers here - usually you would have to log a bug on MS Connect and then they will ask you to send log files.

Have you performed a check of all your server hard drives according to this FAQ:

Your problem indicates you might have something wrong with one of your hard disks.
