Upgrade from Trial to MSDN version RRS feed

  • Apart from the lack of participation from the OCS team on these forums the most most annoying thing I've encountered is the inability to upgrade from the Trial version to the MSDN version. After having used and tested this product since Beta it's extra annoying.

     

    We're a Gold Certified Partner and we're licensed to run OCS. But I've yet to find a download of the licensed version for partners except for the MSDN one.

     

    I tried to upgrade a number times in a virtual environment with Undo disks enabled and following are the steps that worked for me. This applies to Standard Edition. I have no experience with Enterprise Edition.

    1. Stop OCS services
    2. Backup RTC databases with SQL Express Management Studio
    3. Remove OCS roles
    4. Install OCS again
    5. Restore RTC databases
    6. Set db_chaining on RTC and RTCDYN database
    7. Assign certificate with setup.exe
    8. Start OCS services

    Hopefully this will be useful for someone else.
