wlcrdpsystem.exe using 45% of cpu RRS feed

  • Local and remote PCs: Windows XP with all updates

While using mesh remote desktop to connect to the PC the process wlcrdpsystem.exe is using about 45% of the remote CPU even though I am not performing any activity. Is there a workaround or fix for this problem? Anyone else see this?

    Thanks,

    Michael

  • Hi Michael,

The team would like to take a look at your Live Mesh logs in order to determine the cause(s) of the excessive CPU usage.  If you wouldn't mind collecting logs from both of the machines (the one you're connecting to and the one you're connecting from) and submitting them with a bug report, we'd appreciate it.  Instructions for collecting logs and submitting a bug are in an Announcement at the top of the forums.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  •  Ben -

Has the Live Mesh team been able to come up with a way to handle the high CPU usage?

I have Live Mesh running on a box w/ a P4 3.0 GHz proc and when I use the web-based Mesh RDC to connect to that machine, wlcrdpsystem.exe consistantly uses around 50-54% of the CPU.

    Thanks

  • Hi EMar,

We've actually been seeing new reports of high CPU use, both during sync and Live Mesh Remote Desktop connections.  We have at least one open bug on the latter, but more data would be useful in determining the cause(s) of the issue.  Would you mind collecting your logs and submitting a bug report on this for us?  Instructions are in an Announcement at the top of the forums.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • I'm having the same issue Ben.

Has there been any progress on this?

How and where do I submit my logs to you?

    Hi,

I'm afraid I do not have anything new to report, though we are, of course, continuing to work on these issues.

Instructions for collecting logs and submitting a bug are in an Announcement (How to Submit Bugs and Live Mesh Logs) at the top of the forums.

    Thanks,

    Ben.
