Vista 64 Bit : No Live Mesh Monitor installed RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,

    I got 3 PCs  :
    home1 : Vista 32 Bit - Connection w/o proxy
    home2 : Windows XP SP3 - Connection w/o proxy
    work1 : Vista 64 Bit - Connection over non-authorizing proxy
collegue1 : XP SP2- Connection over non-authorizing proxy (same as above)

I can access home1/2 from work1 with LM Remote Desktop - no Problem.
My collegue can use Live Mesh Remote Desktop from his home over the internet to his collegue1 PC.

I cannot access work1 from home1/2 over the internet.

My work1 PC shows the [!] icon at the device.
I installed live mesh using admin account and configured it to use remote desktop enhancements.
I work with the PC as a user.
The Live Mesh Remote Destop Service runs, but musn't there be some kind of additional monitor installed on my vista? There is only the standard Intel Driver appearing ...

I use the newest version of the Live Mesh Software 09.3424.14.

    Thanks for your help,

    Mark

  • I suggest, while awaiting a reply from the Mesh team, that you file a bug on Connect and attach logs from the Vista x64 machine (you can add the logs later if you are not at the PC when filing the bug) and perhaps one of the other machines in your Mesh.

    Hi Mark,

You say that you installed Live Mesh on work1 as an admin, but then you say that you "work with the PC as a user" - do you mean that you work on work1 as a standard user rather than an admin?  What about home1 and home2: do you log into those computers as an admin?  Does work1 go into sleep mode when you're not using it?

Steve is correct that a bug report will give us the best chance of locating the issue, but the above questions may help narrow in on the cause.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • Hi Ben,

I will create a bug report immediateley.

Home1/2 are logged in as local admin. work1 is logged in as domain user or as domain admin sometimes. work 2 does not go into sleep mode.

I think the sleep mode issue is for further viewing. my problem is that work1, which has installed liove mesh, does show this [!] icon and I cannot connect from home1/2.

    Thanks,

    Mark
