General Office Validation Issue RRS feed

  • A few of us have had problems getting Office to validate.  It says that it cannot be validated because it is not activated, even though it has been activated.

    A solution / work around that has worked for us is to delete the data.dat file (make a backup before doing this) that is found under:

    "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data"

    then starting up office and running an online activation.

    Once you've done that the validation should go through.
