reinstal to renew

  for the past year i have been using window live one car and recently i got the message that the subscription to it was about to end. when i went to the store i was lead to believe that buying anouther package that was the same and installing it on my computer would solve the renewal issue. this, however, has not been the case. yesterday when i tried to install it, it gave me directions to install it like normal but now (today)it is saying that the subscription ends today like it should if it was the old package. i have also tried hitting the renew button and entering the product code on the box but all numbers i have tried results in giving me the error message "the subscription pin is incorrect".

   

   

  am i doing something wrong, was told something wrong, or is this one of those situations where i have to make a brand new live one care account to get anything done?
