Numbers swap places when translated RRS feed

  • Question

  • If I translate for example "21 274 35 24" from Portuguese to English, Microsoft Translator returns "274 21 35 24" (note that "21" and "274" switched places). It happens both on my application and on the Microsoft Website. I believe it's got something to do with the way the API reads the URI.

Any ideas on how to go around this?

  • Hi Carlos,

thanks a lot for the bug report. This is indeed not as intended.

In general the translation service is able to move words around as required by the target language.

An ugly workaround would be to escape the number sequence to a twitter tag like @somenumber, and unescape it. But of course you are right, sequences of groups of numbers with a separator should not move around, you can expect that the translation engine does not rearrange this.
