No transfer status in Mac client RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Dear Live Mesh team,

I'm currently having one big (1GB+) folder in my Mesh account. I added it yesterday trough my Mac client, and ever since it has synced and uploaded like crazy. There's just one thing: I can't see how much of my files are already on the server.

There's no status update, just a small, constantly changing indication in the main menu that says that it has transferred 299 of 413 MB or similar, small amounts. I'm sure it'll upload all the files correctly, but it just doesn't tell me how much MB's out of the total have transferred yet.

This would be something that would make the whole transferring process a lot more transparent.
Online backup system Mozy has a great status window - you might be interested in taking a look at theirs.

Besides, the Mesh website is loading really, really slow. I haven't been able to view any of my files yet...

    Thanks in advance!

  • I second this one - a more informative upload window (suitably hidden as to be accessible to those who need it but not get in the way of those who don't care) would be great. Perhaps even a generic "MOE monitor" that would just show you what Live Mesh is doing across the machine, similar to a program task list.

I'd add this to the Suggestions Sticky!

  • Hi,

This is a popular suggestion, and we're certainly looking to improve sync status reporting in Live Mesh as much as possible.  I've added both of your votes for this to our internal list of customer requests!

    Thanks,

    Ben.
