Live OneCare preventing upgrades to Adobe Flash Player RRS feed

  • Question

  • I get messages to upgrade to a newer version of Adobe Flash Player but Windows Live OneCare prevents me from upgrading.  I also get a pop-up about turning off active control X and I do that to no avail.

  • Unless you have set OneCare to always prompt you for programs requesting Internet Access (not the default), OneCare will not block the Adobe installer for Flash. I would suggest that you reset the IE security settings - tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Default button. And, if the problem persists, try again after turning the OneCare firewall off temporarily.

I'm moving your post to the Firewall topic folder, by the way.

If you are still unable to update, you can contact Adobe for help or OneCare support.
