Dynamic CRM 4 RTM Customizations & Rollup upgrade RRS feed

    I am working with a system which is at the base build (RTM) of CRM 4 with substancial number of customizations. In looking at documentation it seems that Rollup 2 is the moving forward build for customizations (export / import) with respect to Rollup moving forward (updates). Does one need to get to Rollup 2 then export customizations (export for backup Purposes), prior to moving forward to Rollup 7 and then 15, etc.? Or not a problem and just apply rollup 7 and then 15 and customizations should move forward just time?

    What say you all and I appreciate your input, please and thank you.

    HI rlmcvicar,

    Update Rollup 7 is a prerequisite for any UR above 7. UR7 will contains also UR 2 so you're right that process should looks:

    - install UR7

    - install UR15

     

    Don't forget about restart after each UR.

    Most of the times the Roll Ups contain the previous roll ups.   So you should be able to go right to 15 without issue.    With that said.   I would see if you can go to Rollup 10 first and then to 15.   That is because rollup 10 made several changes to the security models.   So If you have any issues with upgrades it would show up with that rollup.   If you have a test environment you could always do a backup and just try the Rollup 15 on a test system.
