  • MCITP is "one step over" MCTS, in a way that is somewhat similar to the MCSE, which was "above" MCSA.

The following page lists the upgrade paths from MCSA and MCSE into MCTS and MCITP:

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-windowsserver.aspx#tab4

If you take exam 70-648, you will upgrade your MCSA into two MCTS (on "Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuration" and "Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration"). You may choose to take additional exams if you wish to attain other certifications.

  • Hi

MCTS stands for Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: which is the one who passes any exam on the technolgies over Windows 2003.

MCITP stands for Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional, which is the one who passes any professional exam. But to get the MCITP Status you, generally, must pass at least a MCTS exam. In the case of Windows 2008 you must pass at least 4 exams to reach the MCITP status.

Please verify at http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/view-by-technology.aspx for more details.
