Getting Occasional 503 Errors RRS feed

Answers

  •

We are experiencing some intermittent problems across the Social Platform this morning. That includes the   503 Service unavailable errors.

Our operations team is aware and has been investigating this issue.

We'll post an update as soon as we have one.

    Thanks for your patience.

  • Never seen a 503 before until this morning.  Getting plenty of them.  Shows up quick too, doesn't look like a typical dbase query timeout.  Also looks like social.msdn.microsoft.com is the troublemaker.  Getting 500s too, it's been a blessful while.

  • I've sent a couple of Fiddler traces to FISSUES.

Here's a fun fact: when I get a 503 error, the server involved misspells the HTTP "Connection" header: "Cneonction: close". If we can find the language where "Connection" is spelled that way, we'll be on our way to finding out where the problem lies.

    ;-)

BTW, this is also responsible for some avatars not displaying in the "Answerers" sidebar.

  • Can someone post some reliable repro steps for these 503 issues? If we can repro the problem it will help us look into causes and resolutions. Thanks!

  •  Brent, I sent a couple of Fiddler traces to FISSUES. Did you receive it? If not, let me know an email address and I'll send them both to you.

  • Alicia,

It was not that simple I could not use the site yesterday, when I go to login I get many different errors but I never got login so I could not post all day.

This last roll out was disruptive to normal operation of the site.
