A Mesh Mobile problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
I've istalled the mobile client and am trying to sign-in. Its giving me the message:

    "Connection to Live Mesh failed
Unable to validate the user on Live Mesh. Please check your connection settings and Retry, or cancel to exit"

Now, its very likely that I simply entered my details incorrectly...the trouble is there's no way of changing them. I checked the "Sign-in automatically" box and now there's no way to change my username/password before it attempts to signs in. When my sign-in fails then it just throws me out. Not good.

    Is there a workaround?

    Thanks
    Jamie

  • Hi,

For those that may still be encountering this problem: Please make sure that the system time on your mobile device is set correctly.  In many cases that will resolve the problem.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

    Hey Ben,
Unfortunately I didn't seen anything there that helped. The issue is still...well...an issue.

  • Hi Jamie,

Our Live Mesh for Mobile developers have suggested trying to reinstall the Live Mesh for Mobile software, especially because we have recently updated the software to resolve an issue that manifests in a way very similar to what you're reporting.  If you could try reinstalling and letting me know if that fixes the problem, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

    No, still fails.

My liveID is managed thru admin center. Could that be an issue?

  • Hi Jamie,

Since that didn't work, would you mind collecting your Live Mesh for Mobile logs and emailing them to lmprev@microsoft.com, with a description of the issue?  (And feel free to mention my name in the Subject line so I can make sure the get to the right place ASAP.)  To collect Live Mesh for Mobile logs:

    1. Connect the mobile device to your PC.
    2. Start the Windows Mobile Device Center, and ensure that it shows the mobile device as Connected.
    3. Select File Management, and copy all the logs from \Application Data\Live Mesh\Data\Log on the device to your PC.
    4. Please zip all those logs and email them to us at lmprev@microsoft.com, ATTN: Mobile: Logs Request.

    Thanks,

    Ben.
