How to migrate from Bower RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

we have developed our application with .Net Core + Bower (for bootstrap, fontawesome, jquery etc) And NPM.

Now bower is going away, in the near future we have to migrate away from Bower. On bower site, they suggested to use Yarn or Webpack.

I tried with their tool bower-away and results are not good .. all dependencies are now under node-modules/@bower-components and on VS 2017 shows they not being installed - and on build we get NPM error. Also it created a wwwrootlib folder which is seems to be repointing to Node-modules folder - in a nutshell whole process is pretty confusing.

So can Microsoft .Net core 2.o team can suggest some guidelines or recommendation?

    Any help, greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for posting here.

For your question is more related to asp.net core, you could post a new thread in asp.net core forum for suitable support.

The CLR Forum discuss and ask questions about .NET Framework Base Classes (BCL) such as Collections, I/O, Regigistry, Globalization, Reflection. Also discuss all the other Microsoft libraries that are built on or extend the .NET Framework, including Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF), Charting Controls, CardSpace, Windows Identity Foundation (WIF), Point of Sale (POS), Transactions.
