Duplicate Detection RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm looking into the duplicate detection feature in CRM 4.0 and I have a couple questions that I'd like to ask:

1 - Is it possible to have a duplicate detection rule that will check if two Incidents are duplicates only if they have a specific state? For example, only run the duplicate detection rule if both incidents are in an "Open" or "On Course" state, and in the other cases don't alert me even if their duplicates?

2 - Is it possible to detect duplicates between different entities? For example, detect that an Account is a duplicate of a Contact if both have the same email address.

Thanks in advance for your attention.

  • Hi,

    1. Yes - Case status exactly match(The duplicate detection will AND all conditions)
    2. Yes - Account.Adderss1 exactly match Contact.Address1(You can compare different entities)

    Cheers,
    Jim
