Excluding folders from Backup fails with strange error RRS feed

    Dear all,

    when I want to exclude some needless folders from my backup, a strange error message appears after clicking on the add button in the console:

    "Windows Home Server Administration Console cannot execute the task because the required hard drive is offline on the client. Please make sure it is connected and powered on."

    And yes, the drive is connected and powered on, I can access it via explorer without any problems. Also the drive management tools show the drives online.

    Has anyone an idea, what is going on?

    This sounds like it might be related to this bug on Connect, which is in the same area of the WHS Console interface.

    I have been encountering this too.  Started occuring on my MCE2005 machine after I tried to convert some hard disks to "dynamic" disks.

    Is it standard practice to post a reference to the Connect bug from a post in this forum (so that others can have a quick path to point to if they wanted to validate that they have the same error)?  I like having bread crumbs in the web.
