Windows 7 Build 7600 Windows is not genuine BUT IT IS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I don't understand this. Windows won't activate on my laptop. I can't access an activation centre by telephone, because that option does not appear. I can't use system restore, because it has been disabled. I type in the product key and a message appears telling me to key in a different product key, which I cannot find. This version of Windows is genuine, it came from a reputable dealer. Please help, anyone, I am starting to panic out here...

  • Unfortunately, you have a Windows 7 Enterprise Volume License edition installed.  This type of license is sold only to business enterprises as part of a Microsoft Volume Licensing Agreement and cannot be activated conventionally.  Contact the seller and demand a 100% refund.  Then visit Microsoft Store and consider purchasing a genuine Windows 7 license (Full Version) and perfom a "clean install".

    From your MGA Report:

    Product Name: Windows 7 Enterprise
    Windows License Type: KMS Client

    Name: Windows(R) 7, Enterprise edition
    Description: Windows Operating System - Windows(R) 7, VOLUME_KMSCLIENT channel

  • You are using a key management service product key.  This requires connection with the KMS server from which the key was issued in order to reactivate.  See your KMS administrator at the enterprise that issued you these copies of Windows and Office for instructions.

For troubleshooting the KMS service, see

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee939272.aspx

For an overview of volume licensing see

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc303695.aspx

If this is an unauthorized volume license usage you need to restore the original Windows using the recovery partition on your HP laptop or from recovery disks available from HP.  In such a case you will also need to replace the copy of Office.

If this is an unauthorized volume license usage you need to restore the original Windows using the recovery partition on your HP laptop or from recovery disks available from HP.  In such a case you will also need to replace the copy of Office.
