WHS icon reports that my Antivirus program is out of date? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've installed WHS PP3 without a hitch.  It looks and works great, so far.  I'm going through the requested tasks (Guys, read the Word Doc that is included with the PP3 download) one at a time.  But each time I reboot or boot up any of my PCs, the WHS green icon turns red and reports that my antivirus software is out of date or not active.  I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials. The cure is:  I have to click on the balloon's X mark, and the icon turns green again.  This also happened with PP2.  It's no big deal, but gets to be a little annoying.

  • I agree; but I wanted to let others know, too.

I also agree that it will probably get sorted out at some point, but never-the-less, I would still suggest filing a bug report on Connect.

I would prefer that you keep your suggestions for someone else.  I have never liked your curt replies, and after today, I don't like you, either.  Until you apologize for being so rude, I shall not change my mind.  You could learn a lot about using a civil, even kind, tongue from the other MVPs on this site.  I am grateful for sites like these, and for the support they provide, especially the comments by the aforementioned MVPs.  I hope this sort of thread can end here, or must you have the last word?

I apologize if I offended you.  I have nothing against you (otherwise, I wouldn't have helped you in this thread).  However, in no way, shape or form will I ever apologize for my comment to the other user you're referring to (which, by the way, if you look at that thread now, you will now see he deleted his inappropriate follow-up post).

  • I have that as well, but to be fair, PP3 is a beta and so if Security Essentials. I would expect this to be resolved at some point.
