Security Question: Installing mesh and adding device under multiple accounts RRS feed

  • Question

  • If I gain access to a machine with the mesh client installed, I can log into that machine with my live id and add the machine to my devices. Then I can log out and allow the other user to log in. Now it looks as if I have access to the machine, but the other user has no idea.

How can I tell if someone has added my machine to their mesh devices? Is this something to worry about?

    Thanks

    Eric

  • The only way to tell is if the Mesh client is running and by who is logged in.  If it's not you and you don't remember installing it you can just uninstall at that point.  Other then that it's not something that will occur really.  They'd have to have administrator rights on your computer to install the remote desktop components of Live Mesh.
