Configure Microsoft CRM 4.0 Outlook Client command line RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running a command parameters to configure outlook client but I am getting error message:

The XML in the configuration file is not valid. Location{0}. Please fix the configuration file, and then try again.

    My configuration file is :

                                    <Organization IsPrimary='true'>Test</Organization>

    My Command Line argument is:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Client\ConfigWizard\Microsoft.Crm.Client.Config.exe /Q /config C:\test\clientconfig.xml /l c:\test\crm_client_config.log

What is wrong with my Config file? Please help

  • Your xml file looks correct, here are a couple things you can try:

    1) Does the CRM link resolve from the client machine: http://mycrm:5555?

    2) Open the configuration file in an XML editor and make sure there are no syntax errors.

    3) Make sure that your OrganizationUniqueName is Test and the OrganizationUniqueName is case-sensitive.

  • Thanks for your reply. I have been able to resolve the problem by using<CRMConfiguration> tag rather than <Deployment> tag.

    I am running CRm 4.0.
