CRM 2011: Maximum Number of Team Possible RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am looking for number of Team can created in CRM 2011 (active+disabled), how many active Team can handle by CRM 2011.

What is the impact on performance if I use around 120000 active team?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Good question.

Its not recommended to use huge number of teams. If you start creating these many teams, the Performance will be impacted a lot.

When  any user logs into the application and while accessing any entity records it will start querying for the current users ownerships/Sharings so it will effect the performance.

  • Hi,

The number of Team is limited by SQL Server, it means limited by available storage.

  • I don't see an issue, but if you are not using these teams for security purposes to control groups of user's access within CRM then I think that the team entity might not be best and that the creation of a custom entity might better suit your purpose.

I think that if you clarify what you want to use the team entity for then I think we can point you in the right direction.

  • Thanks Philippe for your reply.

Do you see any performance issue to load views if we use 120000 active team.

    Thanks again.

  • Thanks Jamie and Ravi.

The problem we are getting is we need to share Opprtunity and activity (active and completed related with an account) when a sales person in long term vacation or move from our organisation.  We got a feed back that we cannot share completed activity and only way to do that is using Team. To make it unique based on sales area we need to make that number of Teams.

    Thanks in advance.
