  • I bought a new PC late december it had Vista home premium on it, i had a bunch of problems with it about wo months later in the end i just downgraded to XP Pro again and my sound no longer works. I still have my vista product key, is there anyway to download home premium using my product key for it?

  • You need to contact the manufacturer of your PC and order their OEM Windows Vista recovery or reinstallation disc.  Your OEM Vista product key will only be valid with the PC manufacturer's Windows Vista prescribed recovery method.

  • Also, if you still wanted to use XP, contact the manufacturer of your PC and see if they have an XP compatible driver for the computer's sound hardware.

  • I've been to the manufacturers website and downloaded all the newest software for my pc using the serial code on the back of it. Didnt do a thing. As for getting a recovery disc from them, i have to pay for one to be sent and i really dont like vista very much anyway. Thanks for the suggestions, but i think it will be easier for me to just buy a new sound card.
