After four or five more weeks I see this is not all that uncommon. Solution for me is to just move it a second time.

Looking at this again I don't think the thread was really moved back. I cannot find it in this forum, despite the url of the thread you linked:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=windowsgeneraldevelopmentissues
were it should appear among December 30 threads.

I think you're right. Despite the URL it never moved.

I have come across another instance of this strangeness, but this one is slightly different. A thread was moved from the TechNet feedback forum to offtopic, but it still appears in the thread list of the feedback forum and does not appear in the offtopic thread list.
Link to thread (shows offtopic as the forum in the breadcrumb link and in the URL):
Thread lists:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=tnfeedback (thread in question currently appears at the top of the list)
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=Offtopic

Yes appears to be same issue. I never heard from anyone on the ones I reported either.

Here's another one that was moved but really didn't move.

And here is another. I moved this question over 2 hours ago from the "Forums Issues" forum to the "Directory Services" forum:
It does not appear in the "Directory Services" forum list of threads, it does appear in the "Forums Issues" forum.
Oh, I'm sorry, I just realized this the same thread Dave Patrick pointed out an hour ago. I was waiting patiently for the thread to move.

The interesting fact that after I answered in that thread suggesting to move again it immediately got moved to the proper forum. It is no longer visible in Forum's Issues and it doesn't show up in 'My Forum Threads' (as I don't have that forum in the list of my forums).

Here's one more:
This thread was moved from TechNet feedback to offtopic. Same as above, it continues to appear in the TN forum and does not appear in the offtopic thread list.

Both of the threads I've linked to have now successfully made the move to offtopic. Looks like they both wanted someone to post in them before the move would complete.

So, as soon as you reply to that 'limbo' thread it ends up in the correct forum. So, replying to such threads may be a temporary solution for the bug.

Yeah, that did seem to work for me. Also, the cert thread above that you replied to is now showing up with the Directory Services forum instead of here.

Actually that's because I moved it again and this time it took.

I see, I didn't know you were a moderator of Forum's Issues. Did you get the Moderator's status recently here?
