what technology do you want to be cerfied as ,or what certification do you want to get .
or what technology do you want to get the training related with ?
Besides ,you can choose some certification from www.prometric.com to site the corresponding exams or contact your local prometric centre .

  • Hi Grid_Mkd,
There is no hard and fast rule saying that you have to attend a training to sit for an exam. but it is recommended that you attend the taining since it contains propper structured corse material as well you will definiely gain more knowledge through a training. But if you feel tht you have the necessary knowledge to sit for an exam then you may do so by visiting www.prometric.com which is the official test provider for microsoft.

you will be able to find the available test centers and the price for every exam you select through this site.

note that all microsoft exams are online

What I should supplement is you need to site the exam in the exam insitute ,not online or internet .you will be able to find the available test centers and the price for every exam you select through www.prometric.com

  • Hello, I was browsing through the forums and came across your post on where to take the certification tests, but have some additional questions that need answered.

How exactly does the testing process work? I know its all online, but what happens if and when you complete a test? If you fail a test, do you have to wait a certain time before retaking the test? And what are the prices for these tests, are they fixed or do the prices vary with each certification in which you are applying for? And do you have to take these tests by a certain date before they close, or are they always open for taking?

If you can answer these questions, I'd be most appreciative.

  • I also forgot to ask, how exactly do you get started with the testing? I got kinda lost with trying to figure out how exactly on how to sign up for a test and it seems like I need to become a member of the site you provided, but I was confused about the part where it says "Become a Test Center". Is that the same thing as a member, or do I have to do something different?

  • Let's see if i can provide some answers for you on this one:

First of the exams are not online. You have to go to a testcenter to take the test because these are proctored which means you are being monitored during the exam.

You go to the exam center and sign in or register. Then you will be taken to the exam station. You have between two and four hours to take the exam how long depends on the exam. When you finished the test the result will appear on screen after a few seconds. You either pass or fail. Either way you do get a printed copy of your result. You don't have to wait a period of time to retake the exam but you might want to wait a while and review you weak points on your scoresheet. Then register for the second time (you might be lucky in getting a free second shot - look on the Microsoft site for action packs). You pay around 140 euro's in europe i don't know the price in US but that should be around that same price. When you take the test is up to you. When you register for a test you have to choose a date and time so that's the infuence you have on that point.

For registering an exam you have to register with prometric as an individual and not as a testcenter. By registering you get an PrometricID which will be used to identify you when you register for the course and sending you your confirmation email. This is a one time process.

    Hope this helps a bit.
