SATA drivers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all and thanks first of all to anyone who can help!!

I am using an old 754 Setup to install WHS onto - I have downloaded the SATA drivers onto a USB stick and they load during the initial setup - but then when I get to the old DOS style insall screen (the one that says press F6 if you need to install additional SATA/RAID drivers)
it gives an error saying tha it wont install error code 14.

Is there anything I can do that does not involve buying an IDE drive

The drivers for the SATA I have are from Jetway site http://www.jetway.com.tw/jw/motherboard_view.asp?productid=16&proname=S755MAX

PS I do not have a floppy drive - hence the USB

  • To install drivers at the "Press F6" prompt you normally must use a floppy drive. You might be able to get away with using a USB floppy drive, but your best bet would be to just get a floppy and connect it temporarily. If need be, you can even install with the floppy sitting outside the case...
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • At the initial start up - it says cannot find a suitable HDD to use, and then I use a USB stick for the SATA drivers - and when it finally gets to the F6 state it errors - I dont have an issue with getting a floppy drive - I just thought there was a workaround.
