Windows Vista Activation RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been trying to activate my Windows Vista both online and by phone, but have been unable to activate. Not sure what the issue might be. Can someone please tell me what's wrong? What do I need to do to activate Vista? I do not have the money to buy another OS or buy another Product Key. This should work! This is the upgrade version, Windows Vista Ultimate Service Pack 2. I ran the MGA Diagnostic tool. Below are the results:Diagnostic Report (1.9.0027.0):

As tb19 says, the Key in use in your report is the Default (Keyless Install ) Key.
It's likely that you will be unable to change the Key using the link in the System Properties page - but try it anyway. The reason for the difficulty changing it is that you say that it's an Upgrade license.
If it doesn't work, you'll need to reinstall Vista over itself and enter the Key at the proper time. - but you'll probably have to uninstall SP2 (and maybe SP1) first to allow the upgrade to proceed.
