    I have 3 USB Printers connected to my WHS 2011, shared as network printers. They are always visible, but sometimes, when I go to print something from a client computer, it shows    "... failed to print" and it doesn't print on the specified printer.

    However, If I remotely connect to the server using remote desktop connection, and move the mouse, it starts printing what I had wanted to print.

    So, it is almost like it "goes to sleep" or something.

    Any ideas/suggestions?

    If these are inexpensive consumer printers, you may want to see if the manufacturer has specific drivers for Windows Server 2008 R2, preferably a "driver only" package without all the bloatware. You should also check to see if they have any specific suggestions for networking their printer.

    I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
