MOC 2007 R2 conf call fails (Invite -> Invite by Phone) RRS feed

  • Question

  • We noticed when troubleshooting why MOC conf calls doesn't work that the FROM field in the SIP INVITE for the 2nd call (Invite -> Invite by Phone) contains the users sip uri instead of the E164 number. This is a real pain for us as the PSTN GW (Cisco 2851 ISR) performs matching based on the calling E.164 number and rejects the call if it does not find a matching dial-peer. The GW is not able to perform matching based on users sip uri's. It is offcourse possible for the 2851 GW to match on the called number but we are not able to do that in our environment.

The E.164 number is by default sent in the FROM field in the SIP INVITE from the meditation server to the PSTN GW when calling a normal MOC-PSTN call but this is not the case when trying to add another PSTN call to the original call.

Is there any mediation server parameter that changes the sip uri to the users e164 number in the SIP invites FROM field when inviting PSTN calls to an existing MOC voice call?

Answers

  • We had the same problem that you describe
Gateway cannot use the sip uri
Also inviting from Dial-In Conferencing from the CWA interface gave the same problem

Our solution was to connect to Cisco Call Manager directly instead of the Gateway
