Windows 7 apparently not genuine

Question

Hello,
I've been scanning this board and seen that many people have the same issue as me. However I seem to be going round in circles on the internet trying to answer it. I can't remember doing anything unusual on my computer and now it says that my copy of Windows 7 is not genuine, build 7601. Seems strange as this laptop is not yet 6 months old, etc.
The diagnositic tool that you say to run on other peoples questions returns the following:

All the highlighted errors relate to the last one - the PC is unable to properly read the SLIC table in the BIOS.The solution is to change the Product Key in use to the one on your COA sticker, using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page. You may need to activate by telephone.

That does seem to have done the trick, thanks :) Makes me feel a little stupid! For my reference, I dont suppose you know how that happened in the first place?

It's almost certainly not your fault.No-one knows why this particular problem happens - and there are a number of possible causes, most of which are outside the control of the user. Please post a new MGADiag report so we can check the results are as expected.

The validation error needs to be addressed - please go to www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate to validate Windows - it should pass, in which case you'll be offered IE9 and MSE (you don't have to take them)Assuming both of the highlighted lines change to 0x0000000 (or 0) then you're done :)Good luck!
