Business Portal 5.1 site on SharePoint 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    I have install Business Portal 5.1 on a site collection http://XYZ/

    but we would like to change accessing URL to https://XYZ.intranet.com

    I have to try to configure AAM on SharePoint 2010, but BP 5.1 site does not work, other subsites work.

    I have configured https://XYZ.intranet.com for this web application except http://XYZ.intranet.com/BP.

    I understand that BP needs to special configuration, but I am not very clear for this. I have follow the chapter 23 of the administrator book.

    My questions are:

    I have two web application

    1#, http://XYZ, this is where BP is installed,

    2#, http://XYZ.intranet.com, this is used for https://XYZ.intranet.com,

    What should I change:

    I have tried:

    http --> https

    http://XYZ --> https://xyz.intranet.com

    Should I change config on the "bin" folder of http://XYZ or should I move the bin to thehttp://XYZ.intranet.com, change the configuration in the http://XYZ.intranet.com

    Could anyone provide a detailed guide for me?

    Thanks,

    stephen

  • Hi,

    From a SharePoint point of view you can use AAMs and add HTTPS://xyz.intranet.com into a different zone.  The URL must be listed as a public URL and not the internal.  This can be accomplished by going to AAM page and selecting Edit Public URLs.

    After you update in SharePoint you will need to update the bindings in IIS so that it listens for https://xyz.intranet.com and have an SSL cert for it.

    For the BP configuration piece, I’ll have to move this thread over to the Dynamics forums.
