Another "Windows 7 is not genuine" Message RRS feed

  • Question

  • A week or so back I logged on to be greeted by the "not genuine" error. I've had it before and, sure enough, after logging onto Microsofts activation page everything was fine.
I've just booted up the PC and, for over 5 minutes after entering my password, I had the desktop background and the "not genuine" message; no status bar, no start, not a jot otherwise. The machine was thrashing like blazes before suddenly springing back to life. There was no message on the desktop - everything fine.

    Or is it? Anyone? Please?

Windows update is all up to date (Win 7 32-bit) and nothing from the virus guard, which makes it even more worrying.

  • To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool

(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

     Once saved, run the tool.

Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.

To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

      - in your own thread, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
