  • You can use the "Connect to database..." option in the Tools menu. However, note that Visual Web Developer is more limited than the "real" Visual Studio, and it provides less graphical options for connecting to databases. You should be fine if you are connecting to SQL Server Express. If you don't use the visual tools, and instead you connect to the database in your own code through the appropiate objects (such as an OleDbConnection) then there is no limitation and you can use any database as long as you type-in the corresponding code.
