Incomplete backup saved? RRS feed

  • Before I file a bug report on Connect, I thought I would ask here if this seems to be expected behavior:

    On April 1st one of my clients' morning backup from 5AM showed a status of "Incomplete".  I noticed it and did a manual backup at 8AM which completed normally.

    My backup retention policy saves a year's worth of monthly backups.  The incomplete one above was the first done on 4/1 and so that failed backup was the one saved for April.  It seems like the automatic backup manager should disregard unsuccessful backups when deciding which ones to hold on to.

  • I believe it's expected behavior. If a backup fails, you get a report of that on the client being backed up, and on other clients if they're set to receive alerts. If you choose to leave that backup, well, it is the first backup of that client for that month. Even if it only finished backing up one drive of 5.

    You can still submit a bug report or product suggestion...

    I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
